CURRENT PUBLICATION / RED ROCK FIELD NOTES

THEORY OF NOTHING.

Theory of Nothing: Where Everything Begins by Ethan D. Peterson, published by Red Rock Field Notes, follows questions of form, collapse, renewal, and the meaning we make from experience.

Its illustrations give those questions a visible form. Fractured stone, reaching hands, roots, and reflected worlds connect the book to the studio’s ongoing work on resilience: what changes, what remains, and what we choose to build next.

FIELD NOTE 01 — WHAT WE BUILD FROM THE FRACTURE

FROM THE PUBLISHER

A broken pattern, an unanswered question, a belief that no longer carries its own weight: these are places where thought begins again. Publishing gives that unfinished work a form another person can enter.

Leave room for discovery

At Red Rock Field Notes, we are interested in books that make that encounter possible. A page can hold an argument, an image, or a silence. Each needs enough room to work. Our task is to bring those elements together while preserving the voice that made them worth sharing.

Give the questions a form

Theory of Nothing: Where Everything Begins by Ethan D. Peterson brings philosophical writing and illustrations into the same conversation. Fractured stone, reaching hands, roots, and reflected worlds invite a return to questions of form, collapse, renewal, and meaning. Red Rock Field Notes publishes the book as part of the wider Red Rock Resilience studio.

The connection to resilience is practical. We make judgments with incomplete information. We revise them when experience exposes a weakness. We decide what deserves to be carried forward and what needs to change. Attention, responsibility, and the willingness to begin again keep that work moving.

Carry it forward

This journal follows the choices that shape a reading experience: the language that holds an idea, the artwork that opens another way into it, and the objects that keep an image present in daily life.

The book starts the conversation. What a reader notices, questions, and builds from it gives that conversation a life beyond the page.
